When the days start getting shorter and the weather turns colder at home, it does not have to mean the end of your cycling season. Autumn and winter are some of the best times to ride on the Costa Blanca, with mild temperatures, plenty of sunshine and a huge variety of roads for everything from relaxed coastal riding to longer mountain days.
Swap winter weather for the Costa Blanca
Around Jávea and the northern Costa Blanca, you can ride flat coastal roads, rolling countryside, orange-grove valleys and long mountain climbs without changing base. That variety is one of the reasons the area works so well for autumn and winter cycling holidays in Spain.
Some riders come to maintain fitness through winter. Others want a few days of good roads, sunshine and café stops while the weather at home is less inviting. Both approaches work here, and the route plan can be adjusted around the group rather than forcing everyone into the same fixed schedule.
More than just a cycling holiday
A cycling trip should be about riding, not spending half the week organising logistics. Never Just a Ride can combine accommodation, bike hire, guided daily rides, roadside support and Alicante airport transfers so the practical side of the trip is organised before you arrive.
High-quality bike hire is matched to your needs and includes damage insurance. Daily rides are fully guided along quiet roads with the route chosen around the group, the weather and the type of riding you want from the trip.

Roads worth travelling for
One of the biggest advantages of cycling on the Costa Blanca is that you do not have to climb all day unless you want to. There are flatter routes towards the coast, rolling roads through the valleys and plenty of opportunities to head inland towards the mountains.
That makes the area suitable for strong riders looking for serious winter training as well as groups of friends who want a more relaxed cycling holiday. You can also combine guided days with easier rides and adjust the week if the weather or the legs suggest a change of plan.
Guided rides without the guesswork
Following a GPX file is easy. Knowing which roads are actually enjoyable, where the traffic builds, which direction works best in the wind and where to stop for coffee is different. Local guiding removes that guesswork and makes it easier for the group to focus on the ride itself.
