La Vuelta returns to the Costa Blanca on Sunday 30 August 2026 for a 187.5 km mountain stage from Villajoyosa to the summit finish at Alto de Aitana. This limited Never Just a Ride weekend puts you close to the action, with your accommodation, airport transfers, carbon road bike and locally guided riding organised from arrival to departure.
A front-row weekend for one of La Vuelta’s biggest mountain days
The race leaves the Mediterranean coast at Villajoyosa before heading into the mountain roads of Alicante province. El Miserat, a first-category climb, is one of the key points before the peloton continues towards the first-category summit finish at Alto de Aitana.
These are not anonymous race roads for Never Just a Ride. El Miserat, the inland valleys and the roads around Coll de Rates and Tárbena form part of our normal touring and training territory. On race day, you will ride out with an expert local leader towards the Stage 9 action and experience the atmosphere where the race is expected to come alive.
